What is dental hygiene?

Dental hygiene is the first and most important stage of dental care, representing the essential pillar in maintaining oral health. It includes a series of essential procedures such as ultrasonic scaling, airflow, professional brushing and decontamination using the Biolase diode laser.
This practice consists of a set of measures aimed at preventing the occurrence of dental and gum problems, thus being the key to sustainable oral health. It allows for the early detection of potential conditions, preventing their progression, thus avoiding complex and costly dental interventions.

How often should a complete dental cleaning be performed?

Complete dental hygiene should be performed every 6 months, being essential for maintaining oral health and preventing dental and gum diseases.
A regular check-up at the dentist is the key to a healthy smile!

How do we maintain a healthy smile?

Maintaining a healthy smile in the long term begins with proper dental hygiene at home and continues with periodic specialist consultations at the DENTAL SENSE clinic.
Proper dental hygiene involves a daily routine of cleaning the entire oral cavity, including brushing your teeth, cleaning your tongue, gums and cheeks, and using auxiliary hygiene tools such as dental floss, oral irrigator and mouthwash.

What does a daily tooth brushing routine involve?

  • choosing the right toothbrush , taking into account the size, variety of bristles and the recommendation of the specialist doctor;

  • regular brushing, done at least twice a day, in the morning and at night before bed, using a fluoridated toothpaste, using circular cleaning movements, covering all tooth surfaces;

  • tongue and cheek hygiene , using a special toothbrush or using the back of the toothbrush, performing delicate movements from the back area to the tip of the tongue, thus removing bacterial plaque;

  • using dental floss and/or a mouthwash, an indispensable step in oral hygiene, designed to remove interdental food debris, thus preventing the occurrence of interdental cavities and gingival inflammation;

  • using mouthwash/oral antiseptic , which plays a role in eliminating microorganisms and bacteria from hard-to-reach areas, reducing bacterial plaque, thus preventing the risk of gingival inflammation, cavities and bad breath.

How does a dental hygiene session proceed?

A dental cleaning session at Dental Sense consists of a set of prophylactic procedures performed in a single session, quickly and efficiently. The process is designed to be comfortable, safe and to ensure a deep cleaning of the teeth without damaging the tooth enamel.

What does the complete dental prophylaxis package at the Dental Sense clinic include?

  • removal of HARD bacterial plaque using ULTRASONIC SCALP;

  • removal of SOFT bacterial plaque and BROWN-BROWN DISTORTION from dental surfaces using the AIR-FLOW technique, a technique that consists of cleaning dental surfaces using a jet of water, air and a professional powder;

  • removal of hard or soft, hard-to-reach bacterial plaque remnants left after scaling and Air-Flow, using PROFESSIONAL DENTAL BRUSHING;

  • THE LBR PROTOCOL “LASER BACTERIA REDUCTION” WITH THE HELP OF THE BIOLASE DIODE LASER, which performs subgingival decontamination, thus preventing periodontal diseases, but also hindering their progression.

THE COMPLETE DENTAL PROPHYLAXIS PACKAGE IS PERFORMED UNDER THE MAGNIFICATION OF LOUPE GLASS, WITHOUT AFFECTING THE STRUCTURE OF THE DENTAL ENAMEL.

What is the LBR “LASER BACTERIA REDUCTION” PROTOCOL?

Laser Bacteria Reduction is an innovative and advanced method in the field of dentistry, being a modern and effective approach in maintaining oral health and preventing complications associated with periodontal diseases.
At Dental Sense, one of the essential steps in the dental prophylaxis process is the application of the LBR protocol. This technique involves the use of the Biolase laser to reduce bacteria in the oral cavity. During the procedure, the laser emits a precise wavelength, penetrating the oral tissues, targeting pathogenic bacteria, eliminating them, while maintaining the integrity of healthy tissues, optimizing the health of the entire oral cavity.
Through this approach, the laser creates a healthy environment in the oral cavity, significantly contributing to the prevention and management of oral problems.
